Speech and Language Services
Instructor: Mrs. Zharnest
á á á á á á Welcome to Speech and Language Services in the Middle School. My name is Faye Zharnest and I am a licensed, certified speech and language pathologist in the state of New Jersey. Here in the Middle School, I am known as a "Speech Language Specialist" and I evaluate and work with students who have speech or language difficulties. The speech classroom this year is located upstairs in room 217A and I am in this building five days a week. áI am available to students during their weekly speech and language sessions, and also in the mornings and afternoons if a student needs my help with a school related assignment such as an oral presentation.á

á á á á á á á Speech and Language therapy services are conducted generally within a small group setting on a pullout basis, but also sometimes as a service provided in the general classroom setting. If your child is scheduled for a speech and/or language session, he or she will be made aware of his or her schedule áearly in the school year..

á á á Should you have questions about speech and language services, I can be reached either via email at fzharnest@tenafly.k12.nj.us or via telephone at 201 816-4965. I look forward to connecting with you and telling you more about the speech and language program in the Middle School! á
á á á á Best wishes for an enjoyable and productive school year.á

Schedule
á á á á áSpeech language therapy sessions are scheduled throughout the week and are provided in various ways depending on a student's individual needs. Some students do receive traditional pull out speech and language services while other students are serviced within the mainstream classroom setting. In order for a student to receive speech or language services within the Middle School, their difficulties with speech or language skills need to impact on their classroom and academicáperformance. Once a student does qualifyáfor thisáservice, his or her schedule isáestablished.
